Our motto...

Sainte-Marie penfriends for peace!

Who are we?

> We are a group of "seconde" pupils in "section européenne" at Sainte-Marie who like mail art, writing & people! > We send beautifully hand-written messages or poems to family & friends on pretty postcards & greeting cards we make ourselves. > We also send messages of hope and peace to pen pals in parts of the world where there is strife and hardship. > We choose splendid stamps & send our missives via snail mail of course!

Our projects for 2015-2016

> We will sell Christmas cards we make ourselves to raise funds for UNICEF. > We will start a collection of old postcards showing our school and display it with descriptions and comments on each postcard. > We will take part in a literary evening at Sainte-Marie (reading aloud famous correspondence). > We will organize, with the help of family members + the Musée Mandet and the Archives Municipales, an exhibition of postcards dating from WW1 for the May 2016 “Nuit des Musées” at the Musée Régional d’Auvergne. > We will also, for the same exhibition, create mail art letters on the theme of PEACE with the help of a professional artist. > We will send our mail art postcards on the theme of peace to children in a Syrian refugee camp in Jordan via UNICEF. > We will then hopefully correspond with those children.
